James Richard “JR” Jones

James Richard “JR” Jones went to be with our Lord and his Son, Mike on Dec. 26, 2019. He was born Dec. 1, 1936 to Harold Kenneth Jones and Lillian Isobel Bishop in Sonora, OH.  After graduating from New Concord High School, he immediately joined the Army and served in Korea.

JR was self-employed with several car washes in the Zanesville and surrounding area for over 50 Years.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years Mary, son Doug Jones of Akron; sister, Laura Mae Blackford of Zanesville, and several nieces and nephews; stepdaughters, Debra Adams of New Philadelphia, OH, Amy St.Clair and Teresa Rosenfeld of Connecticut.  He was preceded in death by his Mother & Father; Son, Mike; Brothers, Donald Eugene, Clarence Lee, Paul Kenneth and Sisters, Leona Margarite & Deborah Sue.

No calling hours will be observed, graveside services with Military Honors will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, Dec. 28, at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Bald Hill Rd, Zanesville.
