John McIntire Library to hold Noon Years Eve Event

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – 2020 is just one day away and as adults prepare
to watch the ball drop at midnight, area children have an opportunity
to have a party of their own long before their bedtime. The John
McIntire Library—located in downtown Zanesville—will host its
Noon Year’s Eve event tomorrow beginning at 11 AM. Jennifer Heston,
with the library, says the party will be complete with snacks and
activities for the whole family.

“It’s a way to
ring in the new year early with children—especially for families
with young children who maybe can’t stay up until midnight—and
we’ll be having all kinds of activities going on. We’ll have
snacks; because it’s a party of course. We’ll be having some
games to play; we do the Minute to Win It style of games.”

In addition to Noon
Year’s Eve, the John McIntire Library will also hold regularly
scheduled story time programs for various age groups in the new year.

“We offer story
times for three ages of children here at John McIntire Library; and
we offer them for babies, 0 to 24 months, and that is Tuesdays at
10:30. We offer them for toddlers, ages 2 to 3 and a half, and that
is Wednesdays or Thursdays at 10:30. And we offer them for
preschoolers, which is 3 and a half to 5, and that is Thursdays at 1
o’clock. And those are all free and they’re a great way to work
on early literacy skills as well as just have some fun.”

Noon Year’s Eve
will be held tomorrow at the John McIntire Library from 11 AM to
12:15 PM. All are welcome and there is no charge to attend.
