ZANESVILLE, Ohio — New Year’s Day will be a day of service for Christ’s Table.

“We just want to remind everybody that the holidays are not over yet. We are open here on New Year’s Eve and on New Year’s Day. So, we want to remind everybody that the kraut and the pork will be here. So, if you’re into tradition and superstitions and you need to start your New Year out with some sauerkraut, come on down to Christ’s Table. We will be here from 10:30am to 12:30pm encouraging everybody, nobody wants to spend the New Year alone. Come down and spend some time with friends and family,” says Executive Director Keely Warden.

Warden tells WHIZ News they reaped the wealth of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, but their clients & visitors will be in just as much need in the first three months of 2020. She says they need your time, money & talents.

“The moment you walk in the door you will have a new family. You will have new friends, because that’s just how volunteerism works. The people that are out there volunteering are those happy, go-getting people. You know, if you get that traditional kind of loneliness at the beginning of the year, call a nonprofit, start volunteering, you’ll find a friend,” Warden says.
