Meet Mia, the WHIZ-Animal Shelter Society Pet of the Week

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — She’s playful, friendly and rambunctious. Meet Mia, our Pet of the Week.
“Our new friend is Mia. Mia is a little over a year old, about a year and two months, we think. She’s a little nervous today because this is her first time on TV. We just think she’s a Terrier mix. She’s the sweetest little girl. She’s played with lots of families in here, in this room, in the last few days since she arrived. She plays well, she loves children, she’s just an all-around good little dog,” says Deb Bergeron, Animal Shelter Society Executive Director.
Mia was at first scared to be in front of our video camera, but quickly warmed up and made herself the star of the show.
“She has done very, very well with children of all ages. There was a little girl in here yesterday that was three that really bonded with her a lot, and then there have been teenagers in here that like to roll around on the floor with her and rough and tumble and she’s been great with all of them. I’d like to see her in a home that has children. I think she would do very well with children,” Bergeron adds.
Mia is attentive when staff and visitors are in the kennel area of the shelter. She has no medical needs right now, no current special care needs, is spayed, fully-vaccinated and is ready to go to a forever home.
To adopt Mia, visit the Animal Shelter Society at 1430 Newark Road in Zanesville; call (740) 452-1077 to make arrangements.
