Zanesville art museum offers kid’s classes

Zanesville Art Museum Class

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Master’s Apprentice, an art class for fourth through sixth graders took over the Zanesville Museum of Art on Saturday.

Education Coordinator for the museum Misty Johnson says the class is a great way to learn more about different artists while having fun.

“Today’s class is called Master’s Apprentice and it’s for fourth through sixth graders and it’s all about — studying specific artists from art history and then making a project inspired by their work. So they get to learn about a new artist every time and experiment with fun art materials, learn about creative problem solving and self expression. It’s just a great time to just be creative and have fun.”

Johnson stressed that you don’t have to have great artistic abilities to take part.

“These classes are for everyone. Not just the kids who think of themselves as an artist because there’s just so much to learn and experiment with. This is — any ability level is welcome in these classes and it’s just a really fun, safe, judgment-free zone.”
