ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Landbank met with County Commissioners Tuesday morning to discuss several properties throughout Zanesville.

Executive Director of the Muskingum County Land Reutilization Corporation Andy Roberts says there are several properties along Lee Street, Putnam Avenue, Brighton Boulevard, Spangler Drive and other streets coming to forfeiture.

“We meet monthly to discuss real estate that has either gone through tax foreclosure or is about to. So we discussed several properties today that are coming that way.”

Zanesville Mayor Don Mason presented the City Council’s plans for the property along Linden Avenue. This would include a creation of greenspace and portions of land available for private-sector investments. However, it is not owned by the landbank at this time.

Roberts also discussed the property along Linden Avenue.

“The current status of Linden Avenue is that it has been tax foreclosed, offered for sale for three times. It has not sold for the money that it was requested. There — basically we’re waiting to see if that property gets forfeited. Landbank has interest in working with either the city or some other entity or individual on cleaning that site up and getting it back up into productive use.”

According to the reutilization corporation, over 51 properties are coming to forfeiture.
