Libraries Closing Down

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- All branches of the Muskingum County Library system are closing its doors for the time being to help combat the spread of COVID-19.
The library system is taking steps to optimize its online presence to make sure that the community is not without literary resources. Sean Fennell, Relations Director for the libraries, had this to say.
“In light of people not being able to come into our physical buildings we are actually increasing our digital download numbers for Hooplah, which is one of our digital services. It has e-books, movies, audio books, comics, music and more. So we are increasing our Hooplah downloads to help people through this time.”
The libraries are also purchasing more content for its other digital services. Fennell also let us know that the libraries have an online resource for helping spread knowledge on the virus.
“So one thing that we have done to help our community stay informed is that we have a Coronavirus library updates page on our website. It’s the first banner that you’ll see and it gives you up to date information on where the library is during this crisis and it lists at the bottom some resources for individuals.”
The library’s website also has a deep pool of more fun resources to pass the time with. There are several databases with which to study, as well as helpful guides for parents to assist their children with homework.
There is no timetable to open the library’s buildings at this time.
