Nursing Homes Ordered to Announce if Resident or Staff Members Infected

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine hosted his daily coronavirus briefing Monday at the Statehouse in Columbus. He announced that the growth rate of new cases continues to plateau. The Governor also announced that he has asked Ohio Department of Health Director, Doctor Amy Acton to issue an order that will require long-term care facilities to notify residents and families within 24 hours of a resident or staff member becoming infected. DeWine also took a move to stop out-of- state people from coming into Ohio boarder counties to buy alcohol. He said in an effort to stop the spread of Covid-19 the in-person sale of liquor in these counties will be restricted only to Ohioans. That includes, Belmont, Jefferson, Columbiana, Mahoning, Trumbull and Ashtabula Counites. There have been 6,975 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 275 deaths in Ohio.
