Statewide protest ‘Rally around Ohio’ takes place Saturday

ZANESVILLE – Zanesville will be one of the cities participating and the gathering will begin at 12:30 p.m. in front of the Muskingum County Courthouse. Protestors like Zanesville Patriots’ Kay Clymer says the government is violating Ohioans’ rights and restricting individual liberty with the Stay at Home Order.
“The government is taking too much of our freedoms. They’re eating this elephant little bit by little bit and its going to affect us in the long term. The issues that we’re going to be talking about Saturday are legislative issues of limited government. The government is overstepping into our lives,” Clymer said.
Clymer says he hopes the efforts from protesters are seen by Governor Mike DeWine to get all people back to work and to re-open the public as soon as possible.
“We have done what the Governor has said by the Stay at Home orders. We’re ready to get Ohio back to work. Ohioans want to work. That sustains them – individual, community, family, state, nation. Where are we going to be in a couple more months? We’re going to be a really hurting nation,” Clymer said.
Last Friday, Governor DeWine put in place the Stay Safe Ohio Order that allows for the slow reopening of the state. It is set to expire May 29th.
