ZANESVILLE – The event takes starts locally at 12:30 PM in front of the Muskingum County Courthouse.

Zanesville Patriots’ Kay Clymer is one of the rally’s main organizers and protestors will gather to voice their displeasure with keeping Ohio closed and for keeping employees away from their jobs. Its not known how many protesters will be in attendance, but, no matter the case, law enforcement is prepared for the event.

“We’ll send some officers up to watch (and) just keep and eye out. You know, our main concern is just for the safety of the protesters and everyone else around and we want to make sure that our vehicular traffic on Main Street and 4th and 5th is not hampered by the protest,” Zanesville Chief of Police Tony Coury said.

Coury anticipates that no matter the size of the crowd, protesters will generally keep their wits about them when standing for their cause.

“They’re not mad at us. They know its not the Police Department that has put this on. You know, they point their fingers at the Government; Governor DeWine, but, we don’t expect them to be mad at the Police Department, Sheriff’s Department, whoever is there to assist,” Coury said.

Governor DeWine’s Stay at Home Order is set to expire May 29th.
