Governor DeWine: Masks Mandatory in 7 Ohio Counties Starting Wednesday

Governor Mike DeWine Tuesday announced that the use of face coverings is now mandated in seven Ohio Counties. The counties included in the Ohio Department of Health order include Butler, Cuyahoga, Franklin, Hamilton, Huron, Montgomery and Trumbull. All seven counties have reached the red level 3 Health Emergency Alert. The order is effective at 6:00 pm Wednesday. DeWine says there are exceptions, if wearing a mask is prohibited by federal regulation, if communicating with the hearing impaired or when alone in your office or personal workspace, and other similar measures. The order is to be enforced by the local health department or other government agency and not by employees or owners of a business.
Schools that offer kindergarten through Grade 12 instruction should follow the guidelines set forth last week by the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Health.
