Muskingum Co. Youth Livestock Expo taking place

Mt. Perry – The expo is the product of 4-H children parents as well as volunteers who wanted to give the kids a chance to showcase their livestock due to the cancelled fair.

“They’ve been working with their animals for some of them, over a year. We really want these kids to be able to show their projects (and) come out here. We’re really proud of them for how hard they’ve worked so we’re just really trying to give them something to show their animals off,” Sheep Committee Member Saydee Baughman said.

Different animals are being showcased each day at the event which is taking place off Mount Perry Road.

“Today is sheep, Sunday we did poultry and rabbits, Monday was goats, today is sheep, tomorrow on Wednesday is the cattle and Thursday is the hogs,” Baughman said.

Strict social distancing is being enforced. Everyone is required to wear a mask and there are cones instructing attendees to stand six feet apart.
