Another food distribution will be at First Baptist Church

S. ZANESVILLE – The giveaway comes from a partnership between the church and Eastside Community Ministries. Both entities are aware of a lack of groceries that many local residents have in their homes.
“What we hope to have is produce including fresh fruits and vegetables along with dairy products and bakery items that will be packed in boxes by our volunteers then those will be taken outside and we have a drive-thru process set up that their cars will be loaded so they can get the groceries safely and exit the property safely,” First Baptist Church Pastor Dave Nuhfer said.
Distributions have been held at the church at different times during the year and Nufher anticipates a large turnout tomorrow.
“I anticipate that we’ll serve two hundred families tomorrow. This parking lot at our church will be filled and we’ll fill the parking lot at First Methodist Church also and there will be people probably lined up on the street until we can get them in the parking lots but its going to be successful in the sense that we’re going to be able to help a lot of people,” Nuhfer said.
The drive-thru distribution starts at 10:30 AM Friday. Eastside is always accepting monetary and non-perishable food item donations for future events.
