Head Start Delivering Meals To Families

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio-The Muskingum County Head Start program modified its yearly feast banquet to keep their families safe from the COVID pandemic.
Instead of having the in person feast they sent out nearly five hundred meals to families around the county. Family engagement manager Stephnie Bratton tells us more.
“We have an annual feast four all of our families at Muskingum County Head Start. Typically they would come into this area and we would serve them all but this year we are taking all the fun and food to them. So we’re delivering 454 meals over the next couple days.”
Aside from the meal the preschool program is also sending toys and learning materials to each student to enjoy and use from their own home.
“Inside those boxes is our Mickeys and Minnies. We have a literacy book in there, activities, family fun engagement, there’s a scavenger hunt, there’s little educational activities, there’s a nutritional calendar, and some meal planning.”, Bratton said of the delivered goods.
Registration for the Head Start Preschool can be made over the phone or on their website.
