William “Bill” C. Kohler, 78 of Zanesville, died 10:30 AM, Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Genesis Hospital. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 10, 2021, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 925 East Main Street, Zanesville, with Fr. Martin J. Ralko as celebrant.

He was born Wednesday, April 29, 1942, in Zanesville, the son of Edward Kohler and Frances (Hoffer) Kohler. He married Carol A. (Yontz) Kohler on September 7, 1963, and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.

 

Bill was the former owner of National Road Beer Dock where he enjoyed visiting with all his customers. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed his water exercise classes with his wife and all the friends he met while swimming. Most of all Bill was a family man and cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren and enjoying all their activities.

 

Bill is survived by his wife Carol; one son: Bill (Marsha) Kohler and one daughter: Mary (Kevin) West both of Zanesville; five grandchildren: Ryan (Kelly) Kohler, Joshua (Jaclyn) Kohler, Cameron (Kalyn) West, Carlie West and Jacie West; two great grandchildren: Isabella Newman and Kinsley Kohler and a great grandson to be born; his siblings: Larry (Sue) Kohler of DC, Betty Hecker of Zanesville, Vicki Bagent of Columbus, Mike (Marykay) Kohler and Mary (Jim) Mirgon both of Zanesville; brothers and sisters-in-laws: Franklin (Judy) Yontz of Summerfield, Becky Englehart of Cape Coral, FL, and Susie (Jerry) Moore of Chagrin Falls, and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

 

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two siblings: Eddie Kohler and Marianne Denny.

 

A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date and private Graveside Services will take place in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
