April Cohagen-Gibson Named Animal Society General Manager

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-April Cohagen-Gibson has been named the new general manager of the Zanesville Animal Shelter.
The vote to appoint her was unanimous amongst board members. Board president Lisa Burkett tells us more about the decision.
“”April Gibson has been a part of the Animal Shelter for nine years and has so unselfishly given to this organization like you would not believe. There’s been times when she’s in here cleaning cat kennels and walking dogs and organizing fundraisers, going through applications, picking the right places for our animals and making sure they’re safe. On top of that, taking care of the staff and taking them in like family.”, Burkett said.
The vote was finalized on Friday, January 15th. She plans on getting to work right away on running the shelter.
“We have fifteen staff members, we have two contract veterinarians, I have an animal care manager and a financial manager. It is for the betterment of the community for the homeless animals of Muskingum county. It is a big role, I have taken on a huge responsibility. It is going to be growing pains for me going from a board member to the general manager position.”, Gibson said of the new position.
Gibson moves into the role from the now defunct executive director position.
