ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Residents at the Primrose Retirement Community received their COVID-19 vaccinations today.

Ninety-five percent of all residents and staff received the Pfizer vaccine. Resident Nancy Doerr is excited for the chance to see her four grandkids again.

“I might be able to visit with my grandchildren. I know not immediately but the last time I saw them was last Christmas, a year ago. They live far away. I said, ‘Don’t bother coming, we can’t really visit’ so we visit on Zoom.”, Doerr said of her post-COVID hopes.

Residents flocked in droves to receive their vaccines. Doerr says they look forward to outside activities returning.

“I used to be involved with a lot of groups that came in and played bridge here. That stopped completely once they had to, ya know, limit anybody coming in that didn’t live here. I really haven’t played bridge since last March.”, Doerr continued.

Primrose staff says mid-summer is their intended goal for a return to normalcy.
