Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest

One man is under arrest following a traffic stop in Guernsey County.

The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday evening around 5:20 deputies stopped a vehicle on Interstate 77 for following too closely.

During the stop they discovered the passenger, Robert Hicks, had a nationwide warrant for his arrest.

Deputies also discovered suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Hicks was taken to the Guernsey County Jail.

The driver, Makayla Thomas was issued a citation for the traffic violation.
