Suspect of Pursuit in Custody

The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office was led on a pursuit early Tuesday morning in the area of the East Pike.
The incident began around 4:15 a.m. when a vehicle failed to stop after a deputy attempted to pull the driver over for what Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said was a traffic infraction.
The driver eventually abandoned the vehicle on Norfield Road and fled on foot. The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office brought in a K9 to track the driver. He was taken into custody around 11 a.m. The name of that driver isn’t being released at this time.
Sheriff Lutz says a female in the vehicle at the time of the incident was not arrested.
