ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Zanesville District Golf Association will be hosting its annual Golf Show this Saturday at the Zanesville Country Club from 3 to 6 p.m.

Admission is five dollars which also gets you a free raffle entry. The money raised from the Golf Show goes towards Z.D.G.A Junior Golf. Over the years, the Golf Show has given out $90,000 in scholarships, about $8,500 each year. Seniors from the junior program are eligible for the scholarships.

“It builds camaraderie. The golf community, they become your friends and almost your family. A lot of times they are your family, so when you are here, you’re in the fellowship of others. It’s really fun… But then also, you get to mingle with the kids. We will have kids here that are winning scholarships and will be presented their scholarship checks,” Zanesville Country Club Golf Professional Mike Durant said.

All the local area courses will be attending. Other games, auctions, raffles and merchandise sales will be available at the Golf Show.

“We also have games that help with our fundraiser. We’re going to have a long drive contest on the driving range and that will be done by a trackman which is computer generated yardage, so everybody will have a very fair chance,” Durant said.

15 locker drawings will be set up with close to $5,000 in prizes. If you have any questions about the event, call the Zanesville Country Club at 740-452-2726.
