MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- The Zanesville Noon Rotary has partnered with the City of Zanesville and Hands of Faith Church to beautify and clean up the community.

Good Neighbor Day will take place in the Brighton area on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Projects include trash clean up, recycling and yard work.

“We are calling it “Tidy-Up-The-Triangle” and so it’s Dryden Road, Brighton Blvd., and Stanberry. It’s this nice little triangle right beside Hands of Faith Church… You know, some folks, it’s tiring when you get older and to do the gardening and to do the weed eating and to catch up on things for spring and summer. That’s what we’re here to offer,” Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce Vice President Kelly Ashby said.

About 12 projects are planned with the help of over 25 volunteers. Other organizations like 4-H groups will also be attending. Leading up to Good Neighbor Day, volunteers visit the neighborhoods, introduce themselves and ask them what they need assisted with.

“It was absolutely a wonderful time going door to door and meeting neighbors and I actually had one gentleman say ‘This really restores my faith in humanity,’ so it’s just a really cool project and it is truly meaningful because we mean it,” Ashby said.

Two additional clean up services will take place in June.
