MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- The Muskingum Riverway Advocacy Council held a meeting this afternoon to discuss its upcoming Riverfest fundraiser and current projects being worked on.

MRAC monitors, preserves, protects and promotes the economic, historic and recreational assets of Muskingum River. They will be holding their fifth annual Riverfest at Terry’s Tavern on July 10 from noon to 5 p.m.

“We’re hoping to have a good turnout like we did in 2019. People came in on boats and also drove in and we had a really good turnout and made some good money to be able to give back to the community,” President of MRAC Rick Mulledy said.

The Riverfest event will include a DJ, food, beverages and a Chinese auction. All the funds will be used to keep the river clean, navigational and safe. MRAC is considering a few projects, including adding park benches at the Muskingum River.

“Put park benches at all the locks, the ten locks on the river. MRAC is doing that and working in conjunction with the Boy Scouts to help with that,” Mulledy said.

MRAC is looking forward to seeing everyone at the Riverfest next month.
