Newark Catholic Boys Golf Takes Title: Wednesday Sports Wrap-Up

Newark Catholic Boy’s Golf team took top honors at second Licking County League golf tourney of the season.

The team was led by runner-up medalist Brian Luft who shot a 76, who won the tournament with 315 strokes.

The Green Wave were followed by Johnstown who took second and Granville who took home third, shooting a 326.

Heath was fourth with 340, Watkins Memorial had 354 for fifth, Northridge 388, Licking Valley 393, Licking Heights 421, Utica 426, Zanesville 441 and Lakewood 451.

Max Vanoy and Nathan Riggleman each added 79 to aid in the Green Wave title, while Jack Rehbeck shot 81.

Sam Pfau carded 78 and Max Rosinski 81 to help Granville, while Carter Budreau shot 83 and Dylan Kale 84.

David Link posted 81 and Riley Baum 84 for Heath.

Newark Golf

Newark shot 367 on Wednesday at Apple Valley, in its first OCC tournament of the season. Mitch Bolte led the Wildcats with an 82.
