Coshocton improves to 2-0-1 overall and 2-0 in the MVL.

BOYS GOLF:

The Sheridan boys golf team got two wins on the road versus Philo and Meadowbrook. The Generals shot 162 to the Electrics 172 and Colts 170 to move to 14-1 in the MVL. Blake Tunes and Adam Saffell both shot -40. Cooper Winders and Gavin Emmert each shot a -41.

GIRLS SOCCER:

HILAND: 3 JOHN GLENN: 1

John Glenn was held to one goal in their game against Hiland. They are now 2-1 overall. The Muskies got scoring started last in the first half with a goal by Angela Kumler. A big second half saw Hiland take the lead and hold onto the win. John Glenn goalkeeper “Bean” Sowers made 4 saves off 7 shots. Next game for JG is Saturday (9/4) at Grandview Heights at 4:30.

NEWARK: 0 HILLIARD DAVIDSON: 2

Hilliard Davidson scored two goals in the first half and were able to keep the Wildcats at bay with the help of goaltender Mia Martinez. Newark’s goaltender had six saves in the loss. The Wildcats now are at 2-2 on the season.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

MEADOWBROOK: 4 NEW LEXINGTON: 1

Meadowbrook beat New Lexington in four sets 25-21, 25-20, 17-25, 25-15. The Colts improve to 4-0 on the season and 3-0 in the MVL.

WEST MUSKINGUM: 1 MORGAN: 3

Emma Dolan records 10 kills, 3 blocks, and 10 digs for John Glenn. Emma Johnson added 9 kills, 1 ace, 2 blocks, 25 assists, 13 digs and Abby Buchtel had 9 kills, 1 ace, 26 digs, 100% serving.

River View was led by Kayla Dulgar who had 15 kills, 11 assists, 19 digs . Alivia Spaulding with 7 kills, 3 blocks and Raelee McPeak with 5 kills.

The Bishops fell to 1-5 on the season as they were defeated 19-25, 18-25, 25-21, 15-25. Emily Wilson led the Bishops with 9 kills and 3 aces. Kennedy Tolliver had 2 blocks while Ella Lambert put up 7 digs. Kelly Goggin added 16 assists.

Newark fell 20-25, 16-25, 25-22 and 21-25. The Wildcats Jenna Shackleford had 11 Kills, 2 Blocks, and 10 Digs. Gabby Wolfe 8 Kills, 2 Aces, and 2 Blocks. Jaylen Jackson 7 Kills, 3 Blocks, and 1 Ace. Layne Sanford 19 Assists, 2 Kills, 1 Ace, and 11 Digs. Carlee Thompson 13 Assists and 4 Digs.

HEATH: 1 JOHNSTOWN NORTHRIDGE: 3

Heath lost 25-14, 19-25, 25-11, 25-17. Jadyn Paige had 10 kills, Taylor Hoover had 12 kills, 12 digs and 5 serve receives, Taylia Holmes had 24 assists, Renae Cunningham had 5 kills and 1 block, Meg Barrick had 4 kills, Logan Johnston had 3 kills, Kaylia Krueger had 8 digs and 6 serve receive, Meghan Yeagle had 22 digs and 14 serve receives, Corrine Ault had 4 kills

CROSS COUNTRY:

Tri-Valley Cross Country competed in the Hux Invitational  at Utica. The girls finished second on tough hilly course. They were led by Freshman Taylor Crozier who came in 3rd with a time of 23.47, Junior Ava Harris finished 12th (26.54), PD Moore was 14th (27.04), and senior Anna Thomas (29.44), The boys finished in a race to the wire with freshman Dalton Crozier finishing 5th (19.59) and Nathan Sauerbey 6th (20.03).
