Week Four ‘Players of the Game’ Announced

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Orthopaedics Associates of Zanesville is sponsoring WHIZ’s Player of the Game spotlight each week, and this week one of the three featured local footballers is Owen Smith of Philo.

Smith is #5 on the electrics and is a senior quarterback. He completed 252 yards in passing and over 50 yards in rushing which helped Philo to crush Riverview 38-7. Receiving this distinction was an honor to Smith and he is driven to keep the hard work going.

“It means a lot, it means that people recognize what I’m doing and how hard I’m really pushing myself… I really care about my guys, and I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure that they can get the win as long as they’re doing it too,” Owen Smith, quarterback for Philo stated.

Smith is hopeful to keep the momentum going as they head into their next game which is at home versus Crooksville. The other two Players of the Game are: Noah Wellmeier of John Glenn, and Owen Brown of Fort Frye.
