Fishin’ with Santa Tournament, Helping Families in Need This Christmas Season

The Christmas Season is approaching and members of the community have come together to raise money through a Fishin’ with Santa Tournament that will help benefit kids on Christmas.
The tournament was held at Lake Isabella in East Fultonham, Ohio and raised about $2,400 dollars for the kids. Shawn Ballard, member of the community, said this event generated from a previous His and Hers tournament, but instead thought it would be a good idea to adopt families for Christmas through the Social Service Department.
“When we figure out who we’re going to adopt for Christmas then we’ll hopefully get a list from them of things that we can get for them and then with whatever we raise we will take the money and try to divide it between each kid,” Ballard stated.
Ballard explained the process of the tournament and how each participant was awarded.
“It’s a 60/40 payout. We’ve got plagues for first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth place,” Ballard said. “Then they’ll get money for each place, for first, second and third and then big bass, and will get money for whoever has the biggest bass when they do the weigh-ins.”
Participants were also provided a meal, a drink and got a chance to buy tickets for the donations to raise more money.
