Granville won 25-20, 25-21, 20-25 and 25-9. Clara Wildermuth had 14 kills. Ava Gossman had 11 kills 7 digs. Paige Hamilton had 9 kills and Sophia Fraley had 5 aces.

CROSS COUNTRY:

An annual race took place Wednesday night as the cross country regular season begins to wind down. Sheridan hosted the Backwoods Fest 2 Mile.

In the high school boys open it was Fairfield Union that took home first place. Granville would come in fourth and Lakewood fifth. Sheridan and Morgan were ninth and tenth. Newark and Licking Valley finished eleventh and twelfth. Crooksville was 13th.

The high school boys varsity race belonged to Granville who took home top honors. Sheridan finished third. John Glenn finished in fifth place and Newark in sixth. River View came in eighth and Licking Valley tenth.

John Glenn’s Chris Tooms was the top runner over-all with a time of 10.3.4. Dylan Christian from Granville finished second with a time of 10.3.5. Sheridan’s Tate Ruthers finished fourth with a time of 10.7.0.

In the high school girls open Fairfield Union came away with first place. Granville was sixth and Tri-Valley seventh. Morgan finished eighth and Crooksville ninth. Newark was tenth and Philo eleventh. Zanesville finished twelfth.

Tri-Valley’s Taylor Crozier came in second place in individuals with a time of 12.13.8.

The high school girls varsity race was won by Granville. Newark came in second and Sheridan was third. John Glenn was fifth. New Lexington finished in seventh place. Lakewood was tenth and Licking Valley eleventh. West Muskingum was thirteenth and Maysville was fifteenth.

Newark had two of the top five runners. Gwendolyn Stare was first overall with a time of 11.36.3. Nadia Liesen was fifth with a time of 12.18.

Granville’s Zoee Lehman was third at 11.37.8. Regina Rose finished in fourth with a time of 11.40.9.
