Animal Shelter Society Pet of the Week and Upcoming Barktober Fundraiser

Pet Of The Week, Peanut

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- This week’s Animal Shelter Society Pet of the Week is Peanut! He is a shy, but very loving 1-year-old shepherd.

April Cohagen-Gibson, General Manager at the Animal Shelter Society said that Peanut still has a lot to learn and would do well with a patient family and kids.

“He and three of his siblings came to the shelter about three months ago,” Cohagen-Gibson stated. “He has a lot of energy, but as you can tell he’s a very loving and appreciative animal. He would do well in a family with children or no children. I would suggest that the children be at least over 10 because he’s rambunctious.”

Cohagen-Gibson shared that the Animal Shelter Society will also be having their second annual Barktober Fest next Thursday at Greenhouse Vista View and encourages the community to come out in support of the animals.

“We’re very strong in the community, supporting our community so we have Urban Comforts with the food and then we have Y-City Brewery. It’s a great event. This is how we take care of animals like Mr. Peanut is by donations and these types of events,” Cohagen-Gibson said.

There will be 20 items for auctions and an autographed jersey from a Cleveland Browns player, where you can view these items now on their Facebook page at The Animal Shelter Society Inc. The tickets for Barktober are $30. You can call in to purchase a ticket or they can be picked up at the shelter.
