VOLLEYBALL:

COSHOCTON: 3 RIVER VIEW: 0

River View came into the match on a 4-game winning streak, while Coshocton was on a tear of their own, having won 5 of its previous 6 matches.

Coshocton rolled to a straight-sets victory by the scores of 25-18,25-20 and 25-21.

Lindsay Bryant led Coshocton with 16 kills, while Hailey Helter added 8 and was the blocking leader with 4. Jalynn West ran a crisp offense with 31 assists, and also added 3 blocks and 4 kills. Miyah Davis had 10 digs and Ella Bible had 9.

River View’s Ashley Newell and Kayla Dulgar combined for 22 kills. Dulgar had 26 assists and 13 digs to go along with her 10 kills while Cayla Shrimplin also had 13 digs in the losing effort. 

With the victory, the Redskins improve to 15-7 on the season and 11-5 in the MVL. River View falls to 16-6 overall and 10-6 in the league.  

Although they are rivals on the court, both teams demonstrated unity prior to the match as they became “Winner’s Warriors”, donning blue shirts in support of River View 8th grader, Ava Winner.

LANCASTER: 0 NEWARK: 3

Newark defeated Lancaster 24-26, 21-25 and 23-25. Bella Martinez from the Wildcats had 17 kills. Layne Sanford tallied 8 kills, 15 assists and 7 digs. Jenna Shackleford added 6 kills and 13 blocks. Gabby Wolfe had 7 kills, 5 blocks and 1 ace.

WEST MUSKINGUM: 0 TRI-VALLEY: 3

Tri-Valley won 25-14, 25-9 and 25-9.

The Scotties were led by Eva Dittmar with 16 kills and 3 blocks. Lexie Howe added 11 kills and 14 digs. Elle McLoughlin had 20 assists.

Rebecca Strunk had 8 kills for the Tornadoes. Sydney McWhorter added 6 kills and 8 digs. Kinley Dodson had 14 assists and 7 digs. Kyler Moore added 8 digs.

The Lady Tornadoes finish the regular season 9-13.

MORGAN: 0 SHERIDAN: 3

The Generals win 10-25, 14-25 and 14-25.

MEADOWBROOK: 3 JOHN GLENN: 0

John Glenn was defeated 25-15, 25-16 and 25-8. The Little Muskies Emma Dolan had 4 kills, 2 aces and was 100 percent serving. Emma Johnson added 3 kills and 9 digs. Abby Buchtel made 2 kills, 1 block and was 100 percent serving. Lauren Blair tallied 10 assists and was 100 percent serving and Emma Briggs had 10 digs.

MAYSVILLE: 3 CROOKSVILLE: 0

Maysville wins in three straight sets 25-14, 25-22 and 25-18.

The Panthers were led by Emma PcPeck who tallied 23 digs. Mallori Bradley had 1 assist, 9 digs and 4 kills. Jayda McGarvey put up one assist, 9 digs and 6 kills. Izzy Hutchison had 1 ace, 1 block, 1 assist, 9 digs and 8 kills. Hannah Fulkerson had 13 assists, 11 digs and 2 kills.

Crooksville starts tournament play on Tuesday when they travel to Wellston for sectional tournament play. The game starts at 6pm.

Granville Volleyball lost in 3 to Utica 25-22, 25-18 and 25-20.

Kaylin Fuhrman had 18 digs, Ava Gossman had 6 kills, 10 digs and Paige Hamilton had 6 kills for the Blue Aces

Allie Dunlap kicked in the three goals for the Bulldogs. Rowan Hughes found the back of the net once for Heath in the victory.

Zanesville finishes the regular season 6-8-2. The Lady Devils will open tournament play at 6:30 Thursday at home against River View.

TRI-VALLEY: 7 COSHOCTON: 1

Tri-Valley beat to secure a share of the MVL championship and move to 13-2-1 to end regular season play. 

The leading scoring was Alicia Ritchie with 2 goals and 2 assists. Ally Barclay and Nevaeh Peffers added 2 goals as well. Rounding out scoring was Lexi Klotzbach. Alison Yingling had 5 saves in goal.
