Education of Yesterday Show is Teaching Children and Adults About Farm Life

Education Of Yesterday Show

DRESDEN, Ohio- Not learn, but “LEARM” is the saying the Education of Yesterday goes by, which stands for life, education, responsibilities and memories.

The Education of Yesterday is having their 17th annual Farm Show this weekend and according to Kendra Moore, Coordinator of the show, said her father’s purpose of creating this type of event was to educate children and adults on the process of foods and farm equipment.

“Most kids today don’t realize that, okay yeah their mom goes to the grocery store, but there’s a whole process before that and the farmers are so important to everybody in the world so it starts with a farmer and that’s what we’re out here doing. We’re showing the farming equipment and it’s old and how it started, and how it goes up to today,” Moore said.

Moore talked about the history of the farm equipment that was on display and its importance.

“Like this grist mill here was in the 1800s. It was in Dresden, Ohio just down the road from here and we took it down, put it back up so it’s a huge history. It’s got a museum in it so come check out what all is inside and they’re going to learn a little bit about this grist mill and the equipment that’s in it…and all the old tractors,” Moore said. “There’s so many different things in what they see new now. When you look at the new stuff compared to what the old stuff is they’re going to think, ‘oh what is that?’ because they’ve never seen one before. They’re going to see so many things they’ve never seen before.”

The show will also include bands, trains and digger rides, toys for sale, a hog roast and so much more.

The Education of Yesterday Farm Show plans to be kept alive through generations so that the community can continue to learn, Moore stated.
