It took place December 8 in the late hours, when a sheriff’s detective observed what appeared to be an illegal narcotics transaction on East Wheeling Avenue. Additional deputies were called in to assist.

As a result a traffic stop took place on Interstate 77 and contact was made with a female at an East Wheeling business. During the traffic stop a large amount of currency was located. A search was done on a second vehicle and a positive indication of drugs was reported.

A search of the second vehicle uncovered over a pound of suspected methamphetamines ad suspected fentanyl. Deputies said it has an estimated value of $25,000.

Two males and one female were taken into custody. Formal charges are pending.
