Ohio Mr. Basketball Crowned; State Semifinals Under Way in Columbus
One of the state’s highest basketball honors has been given by the Associated Press. Toledo St. John’s Jesuit’s Marc Loving was recently named Ohio’s Mr. Basketball for the 2012-2013 season. The award is annually given to the state’s top performer. Loving (senior) led the Titans to a 20-4 record this season. He is a two-time Division I Player of the Year, and averaged 21.3 points, 8.2 rebounds per game this season.
The 6’8" power forward worked efficiently on the court, by shooting 60 percent from the field and 30 percent from three point range. Loving has committed to Ohio State and will join Thad Matta’s team next season. He beat out the likes of St. Clairsville’s Dan Monteroso and Bloom Carroll’s Isaac McGlone.
