LCHD Sees Rise in Drug Overdoses

The Licking County Health Department is issuing a community advisory to notify the public of an increase in recent drug overdoses.

LCHD said if you, a friend or family member uses drugs take preventative steps by having Naloxone on hand, not using alone and call 911 if you suspect an overdose.

From February 27 through February 28, there has been an increase in overdoses, overdose deaths, emergency room visits and/or 911 call requesting emergency medical services to overdoses throughout Licking County.

In 2020 Licking county reported 47 total overdose deaths.
