Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week

Dog Of The Week, Nellie

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- The Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center announces Nellie for dog of the week.

Nellie is 1-years-old with a lot of energy, says volunteer of the Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center, Doug McQuaid.

McQuaid said Nellie came into the adoption center at the beginning of March, very friendly and rides well in cars.

“We found out she does well with larger dogs. No cats or smaller dogs and she is house broken. The dog has a little bit of energy so she would need to walk with maybe an older child and an adult,” McQuaid stated. “Like I said, she’s a young dog so she’s in learning stages.”

McQuaid mentioned how a lot of people have been trying to reach out on their Facebook page to schedule an appointment, but they should schedule with the staff by calling into the adoption center instead.

“When you’re calling in basically you’re talking to a staff member. If you’re setting up any kind of meet and greet that you might have a dog of your own or there’s a dog that you’re maybe wanting to come in and see at a certain time of the day, you definitely need to call the office and talk to a staff member. Our Facebook page is strictly just for information, general purposes for the public to know about things that are going on at our facility,” McQuaid said.

Residents are also encouraged to reach out to the center if they believe their dog has been found and need to be reunited.

If interested in adopting Nellie or any dog please call into the adoption center at (740) 453-0273
