Shay, Muskingum County’s Smooth K-9 Adoption Center Dog of the Week

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- Meet Shay, the perfect household companion and this weeks Muskingum County Dog of the Week!
She is around 3 years old, and wandered in as a stray into the adoption center.
Shay is a Terrier Collie Mix and loves treats and affection. She is a very calm pet and would do good with just about anybody.
She is very friendly and home broken according to K-9 Adoption Volunteer, Doug McQuaid. “Would do good with about anybody. Rides well in a car. Loves affection, loves kids. Everybody that she’s around, she just does a great job with,” McQuaid told us.
Shay is around 90 pounds, and does excellent on a leash, so she is great for taking walks. Shay is a fitting name for her, because she soft and smooth, just like Shay (Shea) Butter.

To help Shay and other pups like her find a home, you can become a volunteer for the Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center.
McQuaid also stated, “we would love to have you. Stop by and talk to us and let us know, maybe what you could do to help us.”
If you or someone you know would like to adopt Shay or any other rescue animal, you can stop by their new facility on the East Pike.
You can call to schedule an appointment to get to know her better. You can also check out their website at https://www.muskingumcountyoh.gov/ for a full view of all of the animals up for adoption or for more information on how to become a volunteer.
The adoption center’s number is (740) 453-0273.
