MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio – The 100 Women Who Care Muskingum County had their raffle to give back to local charities today.

The group meets quarterly and each woman donates $100 towards the greater cause.

This quarter’s winners of the raffle are the Animal Shelter Society, Caleb’s Care for Kids, and Thursday Music Club.

Each organization will have a chance to come to a meeting to present for grand prize, Melanie Klotzbach says the goal is to help many types of charities. “Really trying to help make an impact on the community and different charities. We’ve given away money to a lot of different types of charities, we’ve given away money to the Park Society, to Transitions from the Women’s Shelter, to East Side. So, its a big variety of things. So its not just concentrating on one specific charity that you care about, its being about to help lots of different types of charities,” she let us know.

The organization started in October of 2019, and has given away $86,000 to over 15 charities.

The initiative wants charity organizations to feel heard and supported when they receive donations.

“People are listening and caring about what they do, a lot of people– there is so many people that work in nonprofits out there that do their day to day and they get money from different organizations but its a way to get a lot of types of women together, a lot of different people who have different walks of life and things that they do. To be able to give back and just say thank you for doing what you do,” Klotzbach said.

The presentation will be next month, at the Zanesville Country Club at 5:30.

The initiative is also open for any woman in Muskingum county to join, just come to their next meeting for a registration packet.
