Fatal Crash in Licking County

A Licking County man is dead following an accident on State Route 13.

It happened around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday between Hopewell Drive and Dorsey Mill Road.

The Licking County Sheriff’s Office reports that 62-year-old Anthony Robinson of Utica was attempting to turn into a driveway when he drove into the path of a refuse truck that was headed south on State Route 13.

Robinson’s vehicle was pushed more than 100 feet off the roadway, through a utility pole and into the side of a parked Asplundh tree service truck.

Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.

State Route 13 was closed for most of the day while crews cleared the scene and made repairs to the utility pole.

The accident remains under investigation.
