I-70 State Street Bridge Intermittent Closure

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Your daily commute could be delayed this week due to road closures.
Motorists can expect nightly 15 to 30 minute intermittent closures of I-70 for beam setting on the State Street bridge from 7pm to 7am Tuesday and Wednesday, east bound, and from 7pm to 7am westbound on Thursday and Friday.
Morgan Overbey, the district 5 ODot Public Information Officer said that the interstate entrance will not be closed the entire duration of the time.
“Likely from 7pm to 7am, there’s not going to be restrictions of 70 that entire time. When they’re actually placing a beam is when they’re going to have to do an intermittent closure, just for safety reasons,” Overbey told us.
This beam placement will also serve as a means to determine how long the overall construction will take and if it will affect the school year commute.
“Once they place the beams, they will have a better idea of when the bridge is going to open to traffic and whether or not we need to coordinate with the Zanesville City Schools with the beginning of the school year and whatnot. So that’s likely going to have a better time frame after those beams are set,” explained Overbey.
State Route 60 was previously expected to reopen on July 28th, but it is now scheduled to open by the end of the day Monday. For more information about road closures and openings, visit OHGO.com
