Christopher J. Smeltzer

Christopher J. Smeltzer, 66, of Sonora passed at 7:22 P.M. Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at his home.

He was born on Wednesday, January 25, 1956 in Newark, Ohio the son of the late Joseph G. Smeltzer and Mary Cornett Smeltzer.

Christopher retired from Ohio Oil Gathering after 32-years where he worked as a diesel mechanic. He also worked for Wheeler Drilling and did some farming. He enjoyed cutting firewood, farming, fishing, riding his tractor and just being outside.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Walton Smeltzer; two daughters, Angela (Jonathan) Summerville and Jennifer (Mike) Lyons; grandchildren Grace Lyons and Faith Summerville; a brother, Tom (Sue) Smeltzer; a sister, Peggy Gulker; and many nieces and nephews.

Christopher was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home where funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M.
