John William Ball
John William Ball, 93, of Zanesville, passed away December 17, 2022 at Cedar Hill Care Center.
He was born March 23, 1929 in Chandlersville, OH, son of the late, Porter James Ball and Opal Illene Pryor Ball. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone that met him.
John was a graduate of Chandlersville High School, past member of the Zanesville Round Ball Club and Zanesville Boosters. He was a salesman for forty-six years at the Roekel Company, member at Central Trinity United Methodist Church, where he served on several committees. He was a veteran in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Barbara Baker Ball; children, Jay William (Kelly) Ball of Chandlersville, Jeffrey (Patty Bradley) Ball of Zanesville, Julie (Dr. David) Stainbrook of Shelby. OH; siblings, Dixie Hooper, Sharee (Larry) Wollard, Jan Moore; sisters-in-law Mary Ball, Dawn Ball, and Maxine Baker; brother-in law Paul (Margaret) Baker; grandchildren, Jessie (Bill) Baron, Jenna Ball, Kelsey (Matt) Belski, Jared Ball, Aaron Ball, Emily, Grant, Kelly Stainbrook; great-grandchildren, Cameron Baron and Emma Baron; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jack Ball, James Ball, Jerry Ball, two infant sisters; brothers-in-law, Eugene Baker, Ronald Hooper; sister-in-law Gertrude (Lewis) Smith; father and mother-in-law, Paul and Helen Baker.
Calling hours will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 Tuesday, December 20, 2022 and from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Central Trinity United Methodist Church 62 S. 7th St. Zanesville, OH 43701, where services will take place at 11:00 am Wednesday, with Pastor Jon Exman officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Chandlersville, OH, where military honors will be conducted by the United States Army in conjunction with VFW George Selsam Post 1058.
