A-E-P Ready For Severe Storms
AEP Ohio, a unit of American Electric
Power, constantly has its eyes on the weather. The company’s internal
meteorologists are monitoring the approaching storm that is expected to
hit Ohio later Wednesday into Thursday.
Our meteorologists agree with area weather forecasts that there is
potential for this front to produce a squall line that could affect much
of the AEP Ohio’s service territory, as well as neighboring states. This
squall line could produce severe weather accompanied by high winds gusting
above 60 mile per hour, potentially causing widespread power outages in
affected areas.
AEP Ohio crews are prepared to respond throughout the company’s
service territory, and the company is identifying the availability of
additional resources.
We urge our customers to prepare as well. Outage preparation and
safety tips are available under Outages & Problems on aepohio.com. When
major storms hit, AEP Ohio posts the latest information available on
aepohio.com, and customers may follow us on twitter and facebook.
