Power Outage In Muskingum County

American Electric Power officials say they are dealing with an outage Monday. It happened around 6:20 a.m. on the east end of Muskingum County. At its peak 1750 customers were without service…now it’s around 1185. A-E-P says they are working to switch some customers to other substations to restore power but if you are still out of service at 1 p.m. you won’t get service restored until around midnight. A-E-P is brining in a mobile electric unit and that is causing the delay. The outage is being blamed on transformer failure.
