First Free Fresh Produce Market of 2023 At First Baptist Church

Zanesville OH-
Eastside Community Ministries and First Baptist Church are having the first free fresh produce market of 2023 on Friday.
The event is intended to promote healthy nutrition and will be taking place at the First Baptist Church. Most of the food has been donated by the Mid-Ohio Foodbank and also some local donations. First Baptist Church Pastor, David Nuhfer, told us the event is set up to run like it has in the past.
“It’s a drive-through process. People will drive up into our parking area, we will line them up, and our teams will be putting the produce into the boxes behind me, then taking them out. We’ll bring people up so they can be loaded in their car. We’ll get them on the property and off the property safely.”
The goal will be to help up to 200 families with fresh produce. Nuhfer stated that 200 families can amount to almost 400 people.
“It is an opportunity for the Eastside and First Baptist to let the community know that the people care about us, to really share God’s love in a very practical way. It is important for folks who are under-resourced to be able to have extra food on their tables to be able to help their families. Children, adults, our seniors, everybody needs good nutrition and we want to help be a part of that,” said Nuhfer.
They ask that you do not show up until after 9:00 AM. If you want to find out any information about the event, you can call Eastside Community Ministries at (740) 452-7519.
