Kick N AX and ValueCare Raise Money For The ABC Wilson Fund
Zanesville, OH-
Zanesville business Kick N Ax started a fundraiser with ValueCare Ambulance Service that raised $1,000 for the ABC Wilson Fund.
This program is set up to honor Adam, Brian, and Craig Wilson who tragically died on Christmas when their house caught fire. The goal is to help people who can’t afford smoke detectors to be able to always have one in their homes. The President of the Muskingum County Fireman’s Association, Russell Taylor, along with retired firefighter, Steven Vincent, have carried on the program over the years.
“It’s extremely well-appreciated through all fire departments that the community steps up along with us to make sure everybody is safe. You can go to bed tonight knowing you’re going to get up the next morning. You don’t have to worry about it. If a fire does happen, you will be alerted,” said Taylor.
You can call any local or county fire department and they can even help install a smoke detector in your home. Kick N Ax started this fundraiser on September 11th in honor of first responders and told us the importance of this fundraiser.
“It means a lot. We couldn’t, as a community, be without any of our first responders, our firemen, our ambulances, and EMTs. It’s them that keeps us alive, keeps us going, keeps us safe. This was a huge honor for us to be able to do something and impact the community,” stated Owner of Kick N Ax Elyse Luburgh.
ValueCare said they would match any money raised up to $500. After Kick N Ax raised the first $500, they were excited to match it and be a part of it.
“When they contacted me and said they wanted to do a fundraiser for 9/11 that had some impact on our first responders and honoring first responders, it was a really easy choice for us to say one, we want to be a part of it and two, it made some sense to connect them with the ABC Wilson,”
