ZANESVILLE, OH – The Muskingum County Library hosted an “owl-some” presentation today.

The Ohio School of Falconry visited the library for an Owl Encounter. They brought some amazing birds like owls and other raptors for an exciting learning experience.

“I think it’s really important to make learning accessible for people. Not everybody can take the time to drive up to the Columbus Zoo or visit other types of places with live animals for the chance to see them up close and learn about them. This is just an extra extension on what learning you might do in school about this type of animal and bringing it to the community.” MCLS Youth Services Manager, Haley Shaw stated.

About 182 people showed up to the Owl Encounter today. This family friendly program was free of cost and was a hoot for all ages.

“My personal favorite part, other than just seeing how much people are enjoying it, I also just really like seeing the birds. They’re really pretty. Learning about them has been really interesting.” Shaw said.
