We are heartbroken to announce that Kathryn Ann Carpenter, 69, of Zanesville, Ohio passed away at Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus, Ohio the morning of April 1st, 2023. She was born June 22, 1953 in Coshocton, Ohio the daughter of the late John Selby Bales and Helen Ann Weaver Bales.

Kathy was above all, a phenomenal mother, grandmother and wife. Her family was her life.

She is survived by her husband, Ted Carpenter, her three daughters, Erin (Greg) Bell, Kirsten (Chris) Wiersma and Meghan (David) Wagner and her six adoring grandchildren, Alex, Jacob, Jillian, Addison, Ella and Brynn; and two brothers, Bill (Pat) Bales & Tim (Ellen) Bales.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Bales.

Kathy was one of a kind – a free spirit, lover of life and quick to make a new friend. She was always up for an adventure. She loved
cooking, decorating and expanding her cultural horizons.

More than anything, she loved her children, grandchildren and husband. Her love was powerful and inspiring, building upon a humble foundation and creating a legacy of love and devotion that will never die.

Visitation will be held Friday 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM with funeral service to follow at 4:00 PM at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. Zanesville Ohio.
