Mary Helen Ullman Williams, 95, of Zanesville, passed away April 17, 2023 surrounded by her children and in the presence of her Lord and Savior.

Born January 5, 1928 to Helen Harriett Harper and Cleason Andrew Eppley. Mary Helen was a 1945 graduate of Philo High School and trained at Meredith Business College. In addition to her roles as wife, mother, and homemaker, Mary Helen worked at local positions ranging from Pollock Jewelers to Mutual Federal Savings and Loan. As a life-long member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church, she was a member of the choir and her faith was a light to all she met. She was active in her local CCL (Child Conservation League), where she formed life-long friendships, and served as a volunteer for the Zanesville Welcome Center. Mary Helen, Roy, and her young family were active in the National Campers and Hikers Assoc.; traveling across the country and fostering a love of the outdoors and the environment.

She is survived by her son, Mark Andrew (Nancy) Ullman of Marietta, daughter, Sara Ann (Christopher) Pfaff of Glencoe, IL, and daughter, Anita Jane Ullman, of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren Christian Andrew Ullman, Elsa Ann Pfaff (Kevin) King, and Stuart Frederick Pfaff; and her friend of 77 years, Burdeen Higginbotham of White Cottage/Columbus.

Mary Helen was preceded in death by her parents Helen (1937) and Cleason (1951), her husband Roy Frederick Ullman (1997) and her second husband Roy “Bud” Williams (2020). Upon her mother’s death, Mary Helen was raised by her father and her two loving aunts, Rachel Harper and Stella Mae Eppley.

Mary Helen lived her entire life on the Eppley homestead which was established in
1832.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, April 23, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home at 2318 Maple Avenue, Zanesville. A funeral service of worship will be held Monday, April 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Central Trinity United Methodist Church, 62 S. 7th Street, Zanesville.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Trinity United Methodist Church for the restoration of the stained glass windows and the music ministry.
