Gregory Zarbaugh

Gregory “Greg” Zarbaugh, age 71, of Crooksville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2026, at Altercare of Somerset. Born on January 29, 1955, in Lancaster, to the late James and Mary (Eversole) Zarbaugh, Greg lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a genuine appreciation for the simple joys that brought people together. Greg spent much of his working life as an iron worker for Capital Welding, where he was respected for his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to doing the job well. He took pride in his work and in the honest labor that helped provide for those he loved. He continued in that role until health restrictions no longer allowed him to do so, but his dedication and contributions remained a meaningful part of his life story. Above all else, Greg loved his family. He treasured time spent with his children, Greg Zarbaugh Jr., Eric Zarbaugh, Thelma Zarbaugh, Vickie Hampton, and Kevin Keeler. He was a proud father and found great joy in watching his family grow through the years. He also held a special place in his heart for his several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him happiness and a sense of legacy that he deeply valued. Greg’s love for his family was constant and unconditional, and the memories they shared will remain a lasting source of comfort. Greg is also survived by his brother, Steven Zarbaugh and faithful fur companion Puppy. Greg enjoyed music and gatherings, and he especially loved spending time with family. Whether surrounded by loved ones at home, enjoying familiar songs, or simply sharing conversation and laughter, he found happiness in being together with the people who mattered most to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his sister, Pamela Schaffer and his beloved fur companion, Scarlet. No calling ours or services will be observed at this time. A dignified cremation will take place under the direction of Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville. A celebration of life will be held at a future date determined by the family in the coming months. You may sign the online register book at www.ross-frashfuneralhomes.com
