Organizers Gear Up for the Lorena Civil War Reenactment and Encampment

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Area residents have the chance to come aboard the Lorena and sail back into time.

The 4th Annual Lorena Sternwheeler Civil War Reenactment and Encampment takes place July 29th and July 30th on the Muskingum River. Uniformed troops will be aboard the Lorena and along the Riverbank putting on a show for the passengers and on-lookers to enjoy.

“Lots of fun activities that are focused around this. We have entertainment on the Lorena on the Saturday cruise civil war entertainer Steve Ball on the Lorena Sternwheeler on the 10 a.m, noon, 2 p.m and 4 p.m cruise. Payton Seats, a young gentleman that does civil war entertaining as well, will be at Riverside Park where the encampment takes place,” said Ashby.

Ashby said Friday is already sold out but, tickets are still available for Saturday at noon, 2 p-m and 4 p-m for $15 each.

“We do ask that folks call us to get those tickets in advance. We do look for it to sell out, it does sell out every year but, there are still some tickets available,” said Ashby.

You can purchase tickets the Zanesville- Muskingum County Convention and Visitors Bureau located at 205 N. 5th street.
