Bond Hearing Today

A Cambridge man goes before a judge Monday for a bond hearing.

32-year-old Adam Burris is charged with murder, a felony of the first degree, in the death of 26-year-old Kayla Thompson. Thompson was a pizza delivery driver and mother of two, also from Cambridge.

On December 26, Thompson was reported missing after failing to return from a delivery on McPherson Avenue in Cambridge. A female at the home said she saw Burris driving away in the delivery car.

Burris was later stopped by the State Highway Patrol on Interstate 70. Guernsey County Sheriff Mike McCauley said after an interview that Burris led authorities to Thompson’s body at Dillon State Park in Muskingum County.

The bond hearing is scheduled for 1p.m in Cambridge Municipal Court.
